A Mountain Home
La Confluencia is a one-of-a-kind, sustainably built mountain lodge and farm in the heart of Patagonia, originally created by LEAF (Land Ethic Action Foundation).
It is simple, comfortable, and well-appointed – the perfect home base for travelers and groups coming to explore the largely unseen Rio Azul region of Patagonia, its incredible beauty, and its network of rivers and trails.
It’s almost entirely a self-sufficient property, with an organic farm and gardens to sustain us, hydro-powered by our river, and featuring a range of outdoor activities right out the front door.
We are kayakers, rafters, mountain bikers, and hikers. We are also organic farmers who homesteaded here in the mountains of Patagonia 20 years ago. Our friends and family who have visited us over the years have all marveled at the location, the activities, and the lifestyle. From chopping wood for the cook stove, to rafting our river, to riding horseback, to visiting our neighbors in the surrounding mountains – this is the experience we want to share with travelers.

La Confluencia was developed by LEAF — the Land Ethic Action Foundation — as a model for sustainable, self-sufficient living in the Rio Azul Protected Natural Area, which forms a part of the world´s largest UNESCO Temperate Forest Biosphere Reserve.
